Almaş Monastery

Location: Gârcina commune, Neamţ County.
Abstract: Mănăstirea Almaş (Almas) is a monastery for monks (mănăstire de călugări) founded in 1715 by Ecaterina Cantacuzino. In 1821 the original wooden church was replaced by a stone church, built by Lupu Balş and the monk Rafail. It was rebuilt in 1851 by the landowner Palade. Re-established in 1991.
Dedication: 6 December ("Saint Nicholas" day).
