Catedrala Ortodoxa
judetul Covasna

Location: Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna County.

Abstract: The city of Sfântu Gheorghe (Sepsiszentgyörgy, in Hungarian), on the banks of the Olt river is a Hungarian stronghold within Romania, with more than two-thirds of its population of Hungarian descent.

However, Romanian Orthodoxy still remains. The Orthodox Cathedral (Catedrala Ortodoxa), which dates from the 16th century, was designated a cathedral in the early 1990s following the establishment of a bishopric for Covasna and Harghita counties.
