Abstract: Mănăstirea Secu is a monastery for monks (mănăstire de călugări) founded in 1602 by village chief Nestor Ureche, who was the father of the chronicler Grigore Ureche.

Dedication: 29 August ("Beheading of St. John the Baptist" day).
