Văratec Convent
judetul Neamţ

Location: Agapia commune, Văratec village, Neamţ County.

Abstract: Mănăstirea Văratec is a convent for nuns (mănăstire de maici) founded in 1785 by Nun Olimpiada, the daughter of a priest from Iaşi.

On the grounds of the convent, beside the chapel, you'll find the tomb of Veronica Micle (22 April 1850 - 6 August 1889), the mistress of one of Romania's most celebrated poets, Mihai Eminescu. She provided much of the inspiration for the tender emotions portrayed in Eminescu's poetry.

Dedication: 15 August ("Assumption of the Virgin" day).
